# Roadmap **[CQM-25 canonical capability framework](./docs/alife/cqm-capability-profile.html)** — version **1.0.0**, adopted **2026-10-22**. The [source data and protocols](./docs/alife/cqm-capability-profile.json) own the 25 stable axis IDs. Feature plans and capability assessments must name affected IDs, subject/scope, measures, controls, falsifiers and pinned source/run provenance, including failures. The [adoption contract](./docs/MODULE-CONTRACTS-2026-06-26.md) governs taxonomy changes and publication. Evidence states describe implementation and bounded tests; canonical `assessment.score` fields remain null until calibrated. A single organism is eligible; ecology is one domain, and physical models are judged against declared dynamics. CQM-25 is the project standard, not an externally validated scientific certification. The separate 14 Butlin indicators remain distinct. The historical nine-axis 155-system comparison cannot supply CQM-25 scores, ranks or an aggregate verdict. [Provisional author estimates](./docs/alife/cqm-capability-profile.html#provisional-estimates) are a separate, explicitly labeled layer with their own [rubric and source data](./docs/alife/cqm-capability-estimates.json). They retain source provenance and limitations, confer no measured capability, and do not populate canonical `assessment.score` fields. No overall or domain mean, ranking or aggregate verdict is published. Where the Cosmogonic Quantum Mechalogodrom has been, is, and is going. Horizons — not dated promises. For example, distinguish `visual_embodied_scale` from `transfer_generalization`; a more expressive body is not evidence of generalization. Retain negative results and unassessed states. Framework taxonomy changes require version/contract review. - Keep the full gate green at every commit (`bun run check`): 3,631 exact tracked tests, 84.64% line / 82.21% func portable coverage floor, receipts enforced. Tsotchke depth-ledger wiring stays honest (`8 deep`, `7 wired`, `2 harvest`, `4 fenced`, `1 meta`; `17/21` non-meta integrated; the four fences include `OBLITERATUS` and remain out of the deterministic sim), digital biologics growing in the soup. - Preserve the Phase-B failure boundary: Temporal Predictor-V3 fails all eight advancement criteria; the NHI closed-loop result is development-only and interpretation is limited to HUNT/resource plus SPAWN/social. (Promoted to ✅ post-`0.9.0` and retired from this list: reduced-motion §13.258, WCAG-contrast gate §13.260, CI coverage gate §17.339, cross-platform CI matrix §2.40, and a release SBOM §21.420.) - **Accessibility** - axe-core automated a11y pass in CI, beyond the current static-markup gate (§13.259). - **Testing & quality gates** - Browser-level e2e (Playwright-class) for input/interaction and WebGL smoke (§17.340, §12.240). - Perf-regression threshold alert + historical bench time-series (§18.359, §18.360). - **Security & deploy hardening** (for any public deployment) - HTTP security headers — CSP, `X-Content-Type-Options`, `Referrer-Policy` (§14.280). - Rate-limiting on `POST /api/audit` (§15.300). - SSRF allow-listing + error-text secret scrubbing on the 11-provider Copilot fetch path. - **Supply chain & ops** - A live deploy target (hosted URL) in addition to the downloadable build (§20.400). - **Audio polish** - LUFS loudness normalization across the 6 songs (§10.200). ## Later (exploratory) - Rework the temporal learner only under a new sealed development configuration; it must first clear the existing terminal-twin, every-delay, statistical, and worst-model gates before any confirmatory manifest can be frozen. - Extend NHI development with a dependency-closed preregistration and fresh confirmatory family only after a task demonstrates stable benefit across supported actions and conflict regimes. - More non-human substrates: additional titan archetypes, deeper economic/war game-theory. - 2nd-order analytics: predictive omens, cross-system causal traces in the Observatory. - Procedural lore expansion: longer naming grammars, era-aware epithets. - WebGPU rendering path behind a feature flag once browser support broadens. - A "replay from seed" mode that scrubs a deterministic run forward/backward. ## Non-goals (core sim v0.x) - Multiplayer / networking in the **deterministic instrument** — the cosmos is a single-machine, single-user simulation by design today. - User accounts, telemetry exfiltration, or PII inside the sim loop — privacy scope stays nil. - A general-purpose engine — this is a focused, opinionated art-simulation, not a framework. These non-goals apply to the **live sim kernel**.
